The Flying Rooster

The Flying Rooster is a new Pan-European Entertainment Company founded in 2009 by Theo Roos and Yigal Fortuin. Based in the Arts & Crafts Building in the heart of Amsterdam (Holland), the company has access to (demo) recording studios, rehearsal rooms, performance stage, TV and Video Recording facilities, Audio and Video Editing suites.
 
Artists will be mainly drawn from European countries and must have cross-national potential.
The Flying Rooster will represent the Artists in all business aspects including Recording, Bookings, Concerts, Music Publishing, Audio and Visual Products, Merchandising, Social Media Marketing, Internet Promotion, Sponsoring, Synchronizations, Pitching Unique Movie Concepts, Licensing and generally Artist Management.

Theo Roos has over 40-years experience in the music and media industries. Until recently he was CEO/President of Universal Music Netherlands and overseeing various UMG companies on the European continent. He signed many Artists and built the international careers of acts like Andrea Bocelli, Andre Rieu, Ilse de Lange, Noa, Focus, Pussycat, George Baker Selection, The Cats and Laura Fygi.

Formerly Managing Director at EMI Holland, Theo founded his own company The Flying Dutchman in 1980 which became Europe’s premiere independent marketing and promotion company working closely with acts like Phil Collins, Stevie Nicks, Shalamar, PhD, INXS and many others. He also founded trade magazine Music & Media and became a full partner in Billboard’s parent company BPI. This company was sold in 1992 to VNU/Nielsen.

Yigal Fortuin was co-founder and Music Director of The Music Channel, the first legal MP3 platform in The Netherlands which worked closely with known and unknown Artists. This internet company was sold in 2000 to LCI Technology Group NV. Yigal became Artist Manager of international acts (Within Temptation, Silkstone) and started a new company named Transfer International focusing on professional Football Management and Marketing.
